Save It For Later

I think we have a habit of minimizing things that make us feel uncomfortable-

Greeting them with smiles and nervous laughter.

And when the words we urge to speak begin to boil over; we tend to stop them before they reach the rim.

Flatten them down and fold them into pocket sized pieces for us to pick apart later, and then put back together again.

We pretend-

We laugh at the joke.

Gently brush away

at boundaries broke-

Because sugar coated conversations taste better and watered down words are easier to swallow.

But you can still fill up on small things.

They find a way to stay piled up inside you until you reach down and unravel every folded little bit because now-  nothing else fits and you’ve got no space anymore.

And what a bore-

It is…

Doing all that reading.

We’re so used to hearing “fuck your feelings” 3x a day, So why share them in the first place?

Let alone look back and agree with yourself.

You are your worlds’ greatest hater.

And every word left un-spoke

   or brushed off

      by a joke

         is one more

            you'll have to read later...
